Project

Sinatra’s Era was a channel where I took basketball podcasts and turned them into watchable clips for YouTube. It was my way of showing I could build something on social media.

Idea

I started this project to prove I could build something from scratch. I turned my interest in basketball into a media brand to show companies I could own a project from start to finish. For YouTube, I focused on building a library of searchable, evergreen content. I took long podcast episodes, picked the best clips, and optimized the titles and descriptions so people would find them when searching for basketball topics. It was about creating a channel that kept growing on its own without needing me to chase trends.

Results

  • 27.5 Million Total Views

  • 9,000+ Organic Subscribers

  • 300,000 Hours of Watch Time

  • 72% Average Audience Retention (vs. 28% Swipe-Away rate)

The End

I paused production in October 2023 to start a full-time role, but the account was later compromised. I lost access, so I had to take the page down permanently. Even though the channel is gone, the 27.5 million views and the community it built are proof that these strategies work.
